About the ABRSM Publishing catalogue
ABRSM Publishing is the publishing company of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Its catalogue features:
- Repertoire albums for a variety of instruments and voice. These albums include: anthologies of pieces from particular musical periods; specially-written works by contemporary composers; and volumes of arrangements providing repertoire for beginners and young performers. Complementing these volumes is an extensive range of scholarly editions, consisting primarily of keyboard music by the baroque, classical and romantic masters. The major works of J S Bach, the piano sonatas of Mozart and Beethoven, and much of the most popular repertoire of Chopin, Schubert, Brahms and Schumann are available in first-rate practical editions.
- Educational books for use in private study, personal musical development and to help students preparing for exams, such as textbooks, books on music theory, harmony and form of music; books of scales and sight-reading practice tests for all instruments, exemplar CD recordings of exam set pieces; guides and handbooks on subjects as diverse as jazz ensemble directing, performance practice and teaching, and a series for children on the lives of the great composers.
- Material used in the Associated Board's exams, such as: volumes of selected pieces used in piano, violin and jazz exams, as well as material for use in Music Medals assessments; Theory of Music and Diploma exam papers; books of sight-reading, quick studies and aural tests used by our music examiners.
