Biography
b. 1952 Delhi, India. Now lives in England. Composition teachers include Peter Maxwell Davies, Oliver Knussen and Jonathan Harvey. His interest in literature, theatre, philosophy and human rights has led to the writing of several works of music theatre and opera, using a range of sources drawn from diverse traditions. Output also includes chamber and symphonic music, music for voice and for solo instruments. Has taught and been composer-in-residence at several leading institutions. His work has been performed by major opera houses and ensembles, and presented at several international festivals.
