Biography
b. 1954 Copenhagen. Lives in Reykjavík. Studied at Reykjavík College of Music with Thorkell Sigurbjörnsson (composition) and Hermína Kristjánsson, Jón Nordal and Árni Kristjánsson (piano); further studies at the Eastman School of Music, USA, and in Norway and the Netherlands, where he was a pupil of Ton de Leeuw. Active also as pianist and piano teacher; member of CAPUT ensemble. Piano Concerto nominated for Nordic Council Music Prize, 1997. Output includes solo and chamber works, orchestral and choral music.
