Biography
b. 1944 Sydney. Studied with Peter Sculthorpe at Sydney University and Toru Takemitsu in Japan. Is Professor Emeritus at the Universities of Wollongong and Southern Cross. Was first musician to occupy Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard. Recipient of numerous international awards, prizes and fellowships. Internationally performed and broadcast, his works appear on over 30 recordings. Output includes orchestral and choral music, opera, music for film, works for solo instruments and chamber ensembles.
