Alejandro Guarello
Biography
b. 1951 Viña del Mar, Chile. Studied first at the Catholic University of Valparaíso and then with Cirilo Vila at the University of Chile. Further studies with Franco Donatoni and Giacomo Manzoni in Italy. Is Professor of Composition at the music institute of the Catholic University of Chile, where he also directs the annual Contemporary Chilean Music Festival and edits the publication Resonancias. Works have been recorded and have received numerous awards; regular performances in Chile, the USA and Europe. Output includes music for orchestra, chorus, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and voice.
