Siaw Kin Lee
Biography
b. 1967 Kuala Belait, Brunei. Has lived in Canada since 1992. Studied at University of British Columbia (BMus and MMus in composition). Principal composition teachers were Keith Hamel and Gene Wilson. Also active as performer and teacher of piano. Prize-winner in first Annual International Composers Competition of Studio for New Music, New York (2002-3). Works performed in Canada, the USA and Europe. Her output includes works and settings of traditional Chinese music as well as music, with and without tape, for orchestra, chorus, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and voice.
