Joao Pedro Oliveira
Biography
b. 1959 Lisbon. Studied composition and organ performance at Gregorian Institute of Lisbon and architecture at Fine Arts School of Lisbon. Later, as Fulbright Scholar with a Gulbenkian Foundation Fellowship, at University of New York, Stony Brook. At University of Aveiro, Portugal, is Senior Professor
of Composition and Electronic Music, and Director of Electronic Music Studio. Winner of numerous awards and prizes. Works have been recorded and are internationally performed. Output includes opera and works, with and without electronics, for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and voice.
