Erkki-Sven Tuur
Biography
b. 1959 Kärdla, Estonia. Studied at Tallinn Conservatory with Jaan Rääts; later with Lepo Sumera and at ZKM Karlsruhe (electronic music). Plays flute. Was vocalist and songwriter in progressive-rock group 'In Spe'. Works are internationally performed at major festivals and recorded on a number of labels. Majority of his output is orchestral music (five symphonies) but also includes opera, choral and vocal works, pieces for chamber ensembles and solo instruments, and music for film.
