Biography

b. 1951 Buenos Aires. Now lives in the UK. Studied composition with Jacobo Ficher in Buenos Aires, then in London at the Royal College of Music and City University (PhD 1988). During 1980s worked at IRCAM, Paris, at regular intervals. Has been Composer-in-Residence at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Research Fellow at Cambridge University. International awards include first prize at International Rostrum at UNESCO World Music Council and 'Golden Nica' Prix Ars Electronica. Works have been recorded and broadcast; also performed at major international festivals throughout Europe and the USA. Output includes music, with and without electronics, for orchestra, chamber ensembles, chorus, voice and solo instruments as well as opera, multimedia works and music for film.
