Rodney Sharman
Biography
Rodney Sharman was born in 1958 in Biggar, Saskatchewan, Canada. He studied with Rudolf Komorous at the University of Victoria, Brian Ferneyhough in Freiburg and with Morton Feldman in Buffalo. He plays flute and piano.
Rodney now lives in Vancouver where he was appointed the first ever composer-in-residence for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and was president of the Canadian League of Composers.
His numerous compositions include works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, electro-acoustics, solo instruments and voices as well as operas and music for dance.
