Julia Wolfe
Biography
Julia Wolfe was born in 1958 in Philadelphia, USA and currently lives in New York City. She studied at the universities of Yale, with Martin Bresnick and Princeton. She is also the co-founder of New York’s ‘Bang on a Can’ festival.
Julia’s work reflects wide ranging enthusiasms and influences, including traditional American folk music. Her compositions include music for theatre, opera, works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, voice and solo instruments.
