David Bedford
Biography
b. 1937 London. Began composing when he was seven years old. Studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Lennox Berkeley and, in Venice, with Luigi Nono.
In late 1960s played keyboards in Kevin Ayers’s band ‘The Whole World’ and collaborated with numerous rock musicians, including Mike Oldfield and Elvis Costello. Catalogue includes works for orchestra, chorus, instrumental ensembles, solo instruments and voice. Greatly involved in educational projects and creative workshops in UK and overseas.
