Brian Elias
Biography
b. 1948 Bombay, where he started piano lessons and began composing at an early age. Came to England in 1961. Studied composition at the Royal College of Music with Humphrey Searle and, privately, with Elisabeth Lutyens. Professional activity has included major commissions from the BBC and the Royal Ballet, and tutorship to post-graduate composition students at Goldsmith’s College, University of London. Output includes orchestral and choral music as well as works for solo instruments, ensembles and voice.
