Graham Fitkin
Biography
b. 1963 West Cornwall. Studied with Peter Nelson and Nigel Osborne at Nottingham University; later with Louis Andriessen in Holland. In 1985 co-founded the Nanquidno Group, four pianists at two keyboards, since when music for solo and multiple pianos has formed the central core of his work. Composer-in-Association with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, 1994-6.
Founded Graham Fitkin Group, sextet of strings, saxes and percussion, in 1996. Has written opera, music for dance and works for orchestra, instrumental ensembles, solo instruments and voice. Greatly involved in educational projects in UK and overseas.
