Gabriel Jackson

Biography

b. 1962 Bermuda. After three years as chorister at Canterbury Cathedral, studied composition at the Royal College of Music, first in the Junior Department with Richard Blackford, later with John Lambert. Has written for orchestra and a wide variety of chamber, choral and instrumental ensembles, solo instruments and voice.

Strong involvement with the visual arts has led to work with film, and pieces based on works by artists Richard Long and Ian Hamilton Finlay. With writer Richard George Elliott, has produced a number of vocal and choral works.
